Sacramental Whine

Jan 26, 2021

Welcome to episode 89, in this episode I have the honor of interviewing Archbishop Jason Sanderson.

Bishop Jason was born in Vermont, and from the age of 18 was involved with the Independent Catholic/Orthodox movement, first being part of an Old Calendar Greek Orthodox monastery, before being transferred to a bishop in the American Orthodox Church. He took a hiatus from active ministry in 1993 and returned to it by joining the Liberal Catholic Church International in 2000, being received as a deacon. He was ordained to the priesthood in 2002, consecrated bishop in 2006, and elected Presiding Archbishop in 2012, serving one term.

During his episcopacy, he oversaw the development of several missions and projects in Africa, and a review of the liturgy to be gender inclusive.

He is retired to northern New Hampshire, where he focuses his efforts on personal ministry and chaplaincy, and is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in psychology to help develop a program to minister to those suffering from PTSD.
